Today We had the pleasure of interviewing one of the first members of what we consider our family, we met just a week before we officially opened and the relationship is still till today. Here is Loa,
Who is Loa?
First of all — what an honor to be the first interview guest in the Right Living Yama newsletter. Thank you so much for having me. I’m Loa, 32, and I made Bali my home 5 years ago. I would describe myself as a teacher, artist, truth mentor, and lover of life. I teach ceremonial breathwork, I coach humans on how to live in alignment with their truth, I run retreats, I have a podcast called “In devotion to truth” and I love creating art in many different forms like poems, painting but as well cooking and all projects that I create as an entrepreneur are art for me.
Your retreat is called “the rhythm of truth – retreat”. Tell us about “rhythm of truth”. How it came about. What was the inspiration for it?
It was one of these moments where I felt the perfection of life. My soul is so alive, My heart is full of love, my body healthy and vital and my hips moving to the rhythm of my favorite song playing in a café. I remember feeling the vibrant nature of Mama Bali around me and at that moment the name for my retreat came: “the rhythm of truth”. It is a way of living. A way where you feel your own, authentic rhythm. Your life, your flow. A discovery into the depth of who you truly are. And who you aren’t anymore. A journey of letting go. And a journey of remembering that beautiful rhythm of alignment, truth, and love within us.
What is your drive and mission?
My dharma is to guide humans to live and embody their truth. And to create a safe space for sustainable transformation where people can discover, feel, and express their most authentic selves. With that, my mission is to be the invitation for liberation, love, and truth — with ourselves and with each other.
4. Why did you choose Bali to host your journey?
Bali is a ceremony. Bali is healing. Bali is vibrant. Bali is devotion. Bali is nourishment. And Bali is home. I have a very special connection to the land here and I’m beyond grateful to call this island my home and to invite people to experience this way of living.
5. What projects are you working on right now?
Firstly I’m creating life in my womb right now – I am 7 months pregnant with our baby boy and I’m beyond excited, devoted, and blessed to create a family with my soulpartner.
Also, I just came out of an incredible rhythm of truth retreat here at yama and now focus mostly on my 1:1 truth mentoring clients online and offline.
There are also a few projects that are more in the future like a 6 week of breathwork practitioner training in February 2025 in Bali, my next online- workshops and courses, and I’m also writing on 2 of my next books – one will be a book full of poems and ceremony and one will be my second plant-based cookbook.
6. What’s on your self-realization dream list?
It’s a feeling. A feeling of family, health, community, ceremony, and art.
living surrounded by abundant nature in my dream house and growing a family (maybe with a few kids), having our own fruits, herbs, and vegetables growing in the garden, close friends and community around, and teaching and hosting retreats and training in a retreat center close by (either building my own retreat center one day or hosting in one of my favorite retreat centers).
7. Who has inspired you the most in your journey?
Nature. Life itself and, every human that crossed my path.
8. Who was crucial in your development, or inspires you? You can name three and why.
My mum. especially now in my pregnancy, as I’m becoming a mother myself, I realize that I was gifted with unconditional love, support, so much faith and freedom to explore myself and my path.
All mentors and teachers that I learned from — from shamans, to breathwork- and spiritual teachers, to coaching and speaking mentors. I had the honor to learn from the best.
Every longer partnership in my life – no matter if business partners, friends who were very close, or romantic relationships: the people who were closest to me, shaped me and made me who I am today and I’m incredibly grateful for every single chapter.
9. How can people work with you or follow your journey?
